Kitchen Table Hobby vs. Professional Craft: The Reality of Independent Skincare.

Be honest, does it conjure up an image of someone standing at a kitchen sink, melting stuff down in a saucepan? Because there are hobbyists who do exactly that, but there is plenty of room for small kitchen brands. The problem is when it taints the whole independent sector and makes people think if a brand isn't backed by a massive global company, it must just be an amateur experiment.
The giant beauty companies love that. They want you to think you have to choose between their corporate science or a kitchen table mix.
Well, no. That is absolute rubbish.
Let me tell you what actually goes into making my products, because it is a million miles away from a kitchen table.
First off, I am a woman in my fifties, and I formulate specifically for mature skin because I live in it every single day. I know what it needs. I sit down, I work on the formulas, and I do testing, and I do testing, and I do testing.
Then, I take those formulas to my professional formulation team. They test them too. We go back and forth, we tweak them, we refine them.
Once the formula is locked down, it doesn't just get bottled. It goes through rigorous safety testing and gets fully certified.
Then, before it ever sees the light of day, it goes out to my Inner Circle, my VIP customer review group, to get completely honest feedback. If it doesn't pass muster with them, it doesn't go any further.
And when it finally gets made? I don't make it in my kitchen. The physical manufacturing is handed over to a professional, family-run team in England who handcraft every single batch to exact, certified standards. You can actually tell by looking at the jar because it has not got that uniform form where everything looks exactly the same; you can actually see it has been handcrafted into the jar.
That is what a professional small brand actually looks like. It is relentless testing, professional manufacturing teams, certified safety, and a massive amount of passion.
Next time you look at a bottle of skincare, take a moment to look behind the label. Discover the real expertise, transparency, and graft that went into making it.
