How to Use Your Balanced Botanics Skincare

I didn't start out as a therapist; I trained specifically in mature skin so I could create a range that actually works for us. I know exactly how frustrating it is when your skin changes in your 50s and your old routine stops delivering.

The biggest mistake I see? Treating your face like you’re still 20. We’re taught to scrub and push, but mature skin needs a much softer touch. My "no-fuss" approach is all about being gentle—always using light, upward motions to keep things lifted and glowing.

I’ve put together these simple guides to show you how I use each product. Just tap below for the steps.

Still not sure? Just drop me a message—I’m always here to help.
Best Wishes, Heather x

Pro Tips

Micellar Water

How I use it: I start by misting this all over to sweep away the surface dirt and the day's grime, just using a soft cloth in gentle, upward motions.

My Pro-Tip: Stick it in the fridge! On a hot day, there is honestly nothing better than a cooling, refreshing spray of this on your skin, it feels like such a treat.

Cleanser

How I use it: Once the surface dirt is gone, I follow up with the cleanser to get a deeper, proper clean, massaging it in well before gently wiping it off.

My Pro-Tip: Take an extra thirty seconds to really massage your skin while you're cleansing—it gets the blood flowing and feels like a little facial at the end of the day.

Toner

How I use it: After I’ve cleansed, I mist this over my face and neck, then I just use my palms to press it right into my skin.
My Pro-Tip: Try to get your serum on while your skin is still a bit damp from the toner. It locks in all that goodness so much better than if you wait for your face to dry out.

Serum

How I use it: Just two or three drops on your fingertips, warm them up, and then press it firmly into your skin with nice upward, lifting strokes.
My Pro-Tip: It’s really concentrated, so don't feel like you need to drown your face in it—a little bit goes such a long way.

Collagen Cream:

How I use it:Dispense one small pump onto your fingertips for your face, and one small pump for your neck. Gently smooth the cream into your skin using upward motions to provide a gentle, natural lift—no warming necessary.

My Pro-Tip:
I never waste the leftovers! Whatever is on my fingertips gets rubbed into my décolletage and the back of my hands—they appreciate the extra care just as much as your face.

Revive Eye Cream

How I use it: Just a little dab under the eyes, tapping it in gently until it's soaked in and you’re looking bright and fresh.
My Pro-Tip: If you’re feeling a bit puffy in the morning, keep this one in the fridge. That cold hit is a total lifesaver for waking up tired eyes.

Eye Wrinkle Creams (Day & Night)

How I use it: Take the tiniest amount and use your ring finger to gently tap it all around the bone under your eye.
My Pro-Tip: Always use your ring finger for this—it’s the weakest one you’ve got, which is perfect because the skin around your eyes is super delicate and needs that soft touch.

Exfoliator

How I use it: Pop a little on damp skin and just let your fingers glide around in circles. No need to scrub—just keep it gentle and let the product do the heavy lifting, then rinse with warm water.
My Pro-Tip: Think of it like polishing glass; you don't need heavy pressure, just a light, steady hand to get that glow back.

Face Mask

How I use it: Just smooth it over your clean face, keep it away from your eyes, and chill for ten minutes. Then, grab a warm, soft cloth and wipe it all off.
My Pro-Tip: I swear by doing this in the bath. The steam in the room helps the mask really sink in and do its thing, so you get the most out of every pot.

  • Your Morning Skincare Routine

Ideally, your skincare is done morning and evening to give your skin the best support — but Balanced Botanics is designed to work around your life, not take it over. If you only use one hero product, that’s perfectly fine. Consistency matters far more than doing every step.

In the morning, begin by cleansing your skin to refresh and prepare the surface. Follow with toner if you enjoy the extra comfort it brings. After that, choose the product that feels right for your skin that day — your serum, your Collagen Lift Cream, or both together.

If you’re using the serum, apply one to two drops with gentle circular motions. If you’re using the Collagen Lift Cream, apply one pump to the neck and one pump to the face using upward and circular movements. If you’re using both, apply the serum first and give it a moment to settle before applying your cream.

Finish with SPF once everything has absorbed.

Whether your morning routine is two steps or five, your skin will still feel fresher, smoother and more supported for the day ahead.

  • Your Evening Skincare Routine

Evening skincare is when your skin does most of its repairing, so this is a lovely time to give it a little care — whether that’s with one single product or a fuller routine. Twice a day is ideal, but if you only manage one routine, evening is the best time to do it.

Start by removing any makeup or SPF with micellar water if you use it. Cleanse to lift away the day’s impurities and follow with toner to soothe the skin. On the evenings you feel like it, you can exfoliate (two to three times a week is plenty for midlife skin) or use your face mask after cleansing.

After that, simply choose your hero — serum, Collagen Lift Cream, or both. Apply the serum with soft circular motions, especially around areas where lines are more visible. Apply your Collagen Lift Cream using upward and circular movements for nourishment and comfort overnight.

There is no strict rule — just use what your skin enjoys. Even a simple evening routine makes a real difference by morning.
